We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to help build and scale a modern data platform and drive analytics across Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.
This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and governance – owning data models, KPI logic, and standards that power reporting and future AI/ML use cases.
What you’ll do:
- Design, build, and maintain orchestration workflows using Airflow
- Develop and optimize curated and serving-layer models using dbt
- Perform data transformations including cleaning, deduplication, pattern recognition, and schema harmonization
- Build dimensional models, marts, and KPI logic for reporting and advanced analytics
- Define and maintain KPI definitions, business glossary standards, and semantic consistency across data products
- Configure and optimize datasets in BigQuery for analytical workloads
- Implement data quality and governance controls, including automated tests, lineage validation, and metadata standards
- Establish and improve end-to-end testing frameworks for pipelines and transformations
- Partner with upstream and downstream teams to ensure reliable, well-documented, high-quality data delivery
- Support BI, analytics, and data science teams with trusted datasets and reusable data assets
What you bring:
- Strong experience with SQL and modern analytical platforms, especially BigQuery
- Hands-on experience with dbt (models, tests, macros, documentation, layered architecture)
- Proven experience building and maintaining workflows in Airflow or similar orchestration tools
- Strong Python skills for data processing, automation, and testing
- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, KPI design, and analytical transformation patterns
- Experience implementing data quality, governance, and metadata standards in production
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD practices
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, well-structured data models
Nice to have:
- Experience with real-time or near-real-time analytics environments
- Exposure to semantic modeling and business glossary design
- Experience with GCP and cloud-based analytics tooling
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
- Exposure to advanced analytics or ML-enablement use cases
What we offer:
- Flexible working (hybrid/remote)
- Learning & development opportunities
- Strong ownership and impact on data strategy
- Modern tech stack & high-impact projects
If you enjoy turning data into trusted, scalable products and want to lead analytics standards across markets – we’d love to hear from you.
